My Body Our Moves
Circle

I invite you to join a dance and movement circle, My Body, Our Moves Circle, for people above 50 and retirees. This circle aims at moving our bodies nonjudgmentally and maintaining physical and emotional wellbeing. This is not a typical exercise or yoga or Pilates class, but more of a space for understanding a relationship with your body and expressing yourself. The process is slow, gentle, and self-paced. This space may involve a therapeutic element but not therapy. No movement or dance skills and experience are required. The space is for all abilities, and genders, a wheelchair/walker friendly. Let’s embrace our bodies and move creatively. A drop-in type and no commitments required.

Our Features

What to expect 

We will start with a gentle guided warmup and explore various movements that may be guided by the facilitator. We will explore conscious breaths, bodily sensations, and self-cared movements. You may like to move on your own or with others, or with colourful fabrics and other props. You always have a choice in this space; stillness might be part of your movement too. We will come back to the circle and may share our experience.

Your own expressions matter. 

For this space, any movement and expressions are valued. We require no skills, experience, or techniques. The space is non- judgemental and safe.

The safety is paramount for your participation. Your personal information will remain confidential and be stored securely by the facilitator who abides by the Privacy Act (1988).
