Hello, everyone. I hope you have been well. Some of you may have started to unwind as the holidays approach, while others may still be working. During the last summer holidays, I was unable to take my usual break due to the urgent submission of a document to the government. It was a challenging experience, as the submission is still under review, and we are continuing to gather more information and prepare another document for submission.
I am also deeply saddened by the Bondi Beach terror attack that occurred on December 14, 2025. This event reminded me of my own experiences in London and Mumbai, where I narrowly avoided terror attacks. It has stirred many emotions in me and heightened my awareness. If you are deeply affected, please seek appropriate support.

Research on Preverbal Trauma - Update
I have finished interviewing incredible foster mums from four states of Australia, whose children have experienced preverbal trauma. Preverbal trauma occurs before the age of three. I am curious to learn how foster parents experience their children bodily and how their own bodies have been impacted by their children’s preverbal trauma. I have now collated all the data and will begin writing my findings in 2026. I hope to publish my findings and organise a forum for creative arts therapists, psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists, and other professionals to share this information. Please contact me if you would like to receive information about the research forum. I invite you to watch the video created for the Hanny Exiner Memorial Foundation.
Somatic Body Mapping
Mitigating Somatic Impact on Your Body
For my research project, I have been developing a method to mitigate trauma in practitioners by creating a somatic body map for myself. This creative, embodied process has helped me lessen the impact of the trauma I hear from parents and to project my somatic countertransference onto the map. If you are frequently affected by your clients’ traumas and are interested in creating a map for yourself to process clinical material, please contact me. I offer a space for practitioners to navigate their clinical journey in an embodied and creative way.
Intensives – 2026
I will offer two somatic body mapping intensives endorsed by PACFA. This two-day professional development program, followed by an hour of reflective practice, is an opportunity for practitioners to see, sense, mark, and speak about what emerges unconsciously in their bodies.
Scheduled Intensives;
May 23rd and 24th
October 24th and 25th (both Saturdays and Sundays)
Supervision
I continue to offer individual supervision. My approach is based on embodied psychodynamic psychotherapy and intersubjective self-psychology. I am a certified PACFA and a DTAA clinical supervisor and continue to receive supervision for supervision. The fee is $130 per hour.
I wish you and your family a happy and restful holiday!
Kind regards,
Mioi
